Margo Phillips of Mt Morris Twp
“My husband and I have been residents of Genesee County for over 30 yrs. We totally support the pipeline. We feel it’s a much better idea than continuing to depend on Detroit.”

Donald Longstreet of Burton
“I’m 200 % behind separation from Detroit. We can’t trust them.”

Joe Boettger
Somewhat against it because he feels that we should draw water from Mott Lake and other resources before building this pipeline all the way to Port Huron.

Roderick Keyes
He’s for it since it’s cheaper.

Russ Stephens of Davison
“Please do it as quick as you can, we need our own water supply. Remember the Mackinaw Bridge? I do, I’m 87 years old. If they had not built when they did it would cost 90 million.”

Lois Garme of the City of Flint
“Please, please go with the pipeline. It should have been done years ago. I’m tired of Detroit, period. The U.P. and Canada should mind their own business. It’s now or never, I believe.”

William Nyman of Grand Blanc Twp
He currently has his own well but thinks the pipeline is a good idea. He worked in the Detroit area and believes that independence from the Detroit System would be a GOOD thing.

Elaine Merritt of Flushing Twp
In agreement with the need for the pipeline. She thinks it’s time to stop depending on Detroit.

Joelly Wambach of Fenton
She is concerned about health issues with the pipeline. She thinks it’s totally ridiculous to consider building a new pipeline in today’s economy. Who’s going to pay for it? Will there be a cap on rates charged? Do the taxpayers get to vote on it?

Al Walters
He’s in favor of the pipeline. It’s a better idea than buying our water from Detroit and in the long run, it will be cheaper. Need to get more communities involved.

Gordon Mundy
In favor of the pipe being put in from Port Huron, but wants to know how it’s going to be paid for.

Martha Breese
In favor of the pipe being put in from Port Huron

Ray Herholz of Mt Morris Twp
“I think it’s a good idea for this area to have it’s own pipeline for water from Lake Huron.”

Anonymous Fenton Twp
He said he doesn’t care either way because it doesn’t affect him.

Anonymous Richfield Twp
Didn’t want to leave his name but said he thought the pipeline was a good idea.

Dale Ketchmark of the City of Flint
He thinks it’s a GREAT idea to have our own waterline and be out of Detroit’s control.

John Bruner of Davison Twp
Totally in favor of the pipeline

Lois Griffin of Flushing Twp
Thinks the pipeline is a good idea.

Shirley Oliver of Swartz Creek
All for the pipeline. She has a little money if that would help.

Peggy VanBrocklin of Grand Blanc and Lake Fenton
She is in total agreement with the pipeline. She feels we need it now. She also thinks because of the cost factors, it’s now or never.

Dale Hittle who owns property in Grand Blanc, but lives in AuGres
He’s against the pipeline because the lakes are down enough already. He’s got a petition going to dredge the AuGres River because too many people are already robbing the Great Lakes. Senator Levin and Senator Cherry have promised him that they will get the river dredged this year.

F. William Thewalt of Grand Blanc
“I urge you to do whatever necessary to begin the pipeline. We are at the mercy of Detroit’s water board and forced to take the regular and excessive price increases they demand. At the way they increase costs to us, the water in my glass of Scotch whiskey will cost more than the Scotch itself. Genesee County needs its independent pipeline to Lake Huron water.”

Kenneth G. Burch of the City of Flint
“I say, dig that ditch, lay that pipe. Don’t delay this project by goofing again. I want to wield a shovel when the groundbreaking takes place. I’m 95 and I want to see this in my lifetime.”

Costs for construction will greatly exceed estimates. Not to mention increase of everyones taxes. This is more about certain politicians creating sweetheart deals for their friends, on the backs of the taxpayers.

If flints waters wasn't so polluted and the water plants so ran into the ground, this wouldn't be an issue.

you folks better wake up,the pipe line cost $600 mil, what about the cost of treatment of the water?
no one seems to know the cost of having to build a treatment plant in my area since it is only a pipeline.
I live in Worth township and they say I will need to have a sewer put in at a cost of $14,000 to $17,000.
plus the cost to build a sewage treatment plant.and now a new water pipeline.WHO"S GONNA PAY FOR ALL OF THIS???
as for Detroit,I guess most of you folks dont remember
when we had the large power outage for 3 days, the waterplant that Detroit runs in FT.Gratiot stayed on line throughout the power outage.I would have to agree Detroit is not very forthcoming with infomation but they seem to do a every good job and by the way my water bill that I get from lexington is almost 2 times what I payed when I lived in Burton, and the water is not up to Detroit standards.

I heard that worth township was turned down by the state on the loan they wanted for this project, anyone know this to be true?
